Early 2011 I completed a series of pieces for Frankston Church of Christ on "fruit of the spirit ''- love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, gentleness, goodness, kindness and self control involving paint on a canvas background with added fabrics and paper with a worked cord in each.  See these in "Spiritual series" in 'Gallery'. My most recent work is in 'Inspiration' under the Gallery heading. 

 Late 2011 I joined the 'Peninsula Studio Trail' comprising a group of artists who open their studios on specific weekends and usually by appointment at other times.    See www.virtualsorrento.com.au for map and details.

  1) the first workshop for the year is-LANDSCAPES & SEASCAPES in painting on fabrics with freehand machining, added manipulated fabrics such as burnt organzas, wrapped cords and embellishing. I will have samples and illustrations and will demonstrate acrylic painting used thinly as watercolour on calico and more thickly on canvas.Then fusing iron on backing to the calico negating the use of the hoop, I will demonstrate freehand machining with different methods to denote grasses, trees etc. and the use of soluble fabrics which allows free form embroidery to be independently added to the background. An action    packed day! Backing and added fabrics will be supplied along with mc. embroidery threads.  BYO sewing machine and lunch. Saturday 17th March 2012 10am. to 4pm.  Fee $60.  6 places only.  tel.03 9787 9795 for extra details and to book. 

2) second workshop TRANSFER PRINTING-to make several copies, as literal or abstract backgrounds for additonal techniques. We will use disperse dyes or transfer paints/ crayons to use on paper and iron to other backgrounds. Splodging, using brushes and pens. Some ready printed papers are effective as are gels and other meduims. These will be explored and time for embellishment and ideas shown for use.              Most necessities provided, inc. tea and coffee.               BYO sewing machine and lunch.    Saturday 5th May 2012 10am - 4pm.     Fee $60.     6 places only.   tel 03 9787 9795 for extra details & to book a place.
